CORTANA

Cortana is an app with which you can use your voice to make a call, send a text message, search the web, or open an app.

Cortana can help you:

• Schedule a meeting
• Set a reminder for an important task
• Send automatic replies for callers when you don’t want to be disturbed
• Check your location
• Get up-to-date traffic or weather info, and much more

You need a Microsoft account to use Cortana.

To use Cortana, press and hold the search key, and follow the instructions shown on your phone.

Cortana is not available in all languages. For info on the supported languages, go to www.windowsphone.com.

How To Activate Cortana In any Windows Phone :

 There is two Modes in Cortana one is Alpha Mode and other is Beta Mode

• Cortana Alpha Mode :  Go to > Setting > Time and Languages > Select Region - India > Speech - English UK > get back to Update & security > check phone update > download speech update over here > restart your phone > Successfully done. 

•  Cortana Beta Mode : Go to > Setting > Time & Language > Region - English US  >   Speech - English Us >  Get back to update and security > Check phone updates > Download speech pack. Than restart your device.

   

  Now you are thinking what is the difference between Cortana Alpha and Cortana Beta ? These are some differences in both Alpha and Beta  :

  
  

  ·        Alpha can't let you make decisions by flipping/tossing virtual coins.

  ·        Alpha can't provide you nearby hotels/cuisine.

  ·        Alpha does not have more number of interests as compared to Beta.
  ·        Alpha offers all basic Cortana features like Quiet Hours, Reminders, and Interests.
  ·        Alpha offers news/temperature details based on your locale. Its in Alpha so we can expect some features not to be there but it almost performs like Beta.
  ·         Beta Cortana not providing details related to nearby hotels is foursquare.
  ·        Cortana beta provides this because it uses foursquare in its beta version.
  ·        Cortana can be sung a song for you.
  ·        Cortana beta won’t provide your local news.
  ·        Cortana beta will provide your local temp in Fahrenheit by default.
  ·        Cortana Beta can be easily recognize songs playing around you.
  
  
  That was some difference between Alpha Mode & Beta Mode.
  
  
  You can turn Cortana off at any time. Go to Cortana's Notebook > Settings, turn Cortana off and then restart your phone.
